Sea Symphony

When waves retract,
tucking in the tide
with their hands
gloved in white
pulling back
under moon’s low,
steady glow
the sands scatter,
encourage shells
to travel along,
drift on,
to other shores.
The fiddlers dance
to the gulf’s song
of gulls crying
resting on
the salty breeze
as it strums through
the dune reeds.
