When in distress I start to fall
you are solid, steady as a rock
which I can lean upon.
When the sand beneath my feet
recedes suddenly to waters deep
you tread with me, pull me safely
back in to steadier shore.
You cry for me when I’ve run dry.
When I barely have strength to stand
you hold me heart in heart,
and hand in hand you push me onward
until at last the sun returns, shines on
the victories in your effort made
to encourage me through life’s dismay.
